Haley Leathers, Soprano

Teacher & Performer

Teaching Philosophy: My philosophy as a teacher is to encourage my students to come to their lessons with an open mind, ready to learn. I believe it is important to have high expectations for my students, and that means helping them to consistently grow in their education. Therefore, I think it is important to provide my students with a well-rounded education when it comes to learning technique and repertoire. Because of this, I strive to always listen to my students, grow from constructive criticism, and make sure that we are all learning from each other. I believe this is the way for students and teachers to grow and learn together.

Teaching Experience: Most of my teaching experience is with students ranging from Kindergarten to sixth grade, but I do also have experience with older students as well, as I have also taught student ranging from seventh grade to twelfth grade. I have primarily taught as an assistant voice teacher at Kincaid-Gooch Voice Studio in Alamo, Tennessee, and I have taught as a student music teacher at Barksdale Elementary School and Rossview High School.

What to Expect: Students can expect to learn various repertoire, build technique, learn to read sheet music, and most importantly - have fun!
